Sep 3 SIMA ends in disagreement: the negotiation grinds to a halt The scheduled resumption at SIMA (case 394/2026) followed the postponement management had requested in order to put forward a proposal that would improve on the pre-agreement rejected in July and safeguard jobs —hiring, early retirement and plant workloads—. There was no progress: the table falls into «absolute paralysis» and closes with a Record of Disagreement. With both the strike and the negotiation closed in disagreement, the dispute enters uncertain ground.

Sep 18 Spain's National Court suspends the referendum The Social Chamber of the Audiencia Nacional grants urgent interim measures and puts on hold the referendum the company had called for 24 and 25 September. It upholds the measures requested by CGT in its collective-dispute claim, which alleges a breach of the right to strike and bad faith in the negotiations. The open-ended strike remains in force.
